First of all, you will need to demonstrate or provide proof of English competency. If English is not your native language, you may also need to provide documentation and proof of relevant experience in an English-speaking environment.

Also, the fact that in many classes, there may be ten or more native languages collectively spoken by class members, makes knowing a foreign language a mute point in respect to conducting courses. However, if you are living in a foreign country, it will be to your advantage to know the predominant language of the country you are in. Also, having learned a foreign language will give you a better idea of how to teach a language to your own students.
