The TEFL Accreditation Organisation, also called the world TEFL Accrediting Commission (WTEFLAC) works with TEFL/TESOL courses and course providers in order to better the quality of the TEFL/TESOL community on a whole.
What does this mean for you? Simply put, WTEFLAC works through education, partnership and mutual trust in order to make the TEFL/TESOL market a transparent and honest one, which is much better for both the professionals working to teach the available courses and for the students who wish to take these courses.
A strict code of practice is put in place in order to ensure that this transparency happens, and that code of practice affects everyone involved with the TEFL Accreditation Organisation, from the students to the professionals working with WTEFLAC. This allows anyone to put in the name of a person or organisation that is claiming to be accredited by the TEFL Accreditation. After submitting this information, you will receive either confirmation or denial of the claimed accreditation from a compliance agent, which makes selecting a course that much more secure for any potential student. Through the checker, you can be absolutely certain that the course you are about to take is accredited by an organisation that has very rigorous standards.
Furthering the transparency, there is also a tab available on the website that is titled code of practice, and this is where any prospective student or professional can view the code in its entirety. You are therefore able to see exactly what standards WTEFLAC holds itself and its partners up to, so you aren’t left guessing about what kind of quality insurance is truly available and what kind of standards the courses and professionals are required to meet.

ReplyDeleteIndividuals who HAVE been defrauded by TEFL Institute should IMMEDIATELY contact their Credit Card company or issuing bank/credit union and DISPUTE the charges made to one's credit card. The key word is DISPUTE, and it is your legal right. FRAUD or failure to deliver promised services are LEGITIMATE reasons for initiating this FREE dispute resolution process which is guaranteed by Federal Law. While the investigation is underway, charges are reversed in your favour.
DO NOT register or pay money to TEFL Institute without doing your homework. You along with hundreds of students (and dozens of unpaid teachers) will regret your decision!
