What Does The TELF Accreditation Body Do?

TEFL Accrediting Organisation
Courses and instructors that teach English as a foreign language can vary markedly in quality and components from one to another. When a person registers for an English as a Foreign Language course, they can be taking a chance as to whether or not the course will really help them achieve their goals. This is why the TELF Accreditation Body was developed. This organization helps to ensure that English as a Foreign Language courses meet the needs of the students. As long as the course/instructor is certified, the students can be confident that the course will provide certain things for them.
One thing that students are assured of when they take a course that is certified by the TELF Accreditation Body is an opportunity to reach an excellent level of development and education. In order to become accredited, a course must be thoroughly scrutinized to be sure that it reaches the requirements of the accrediting organization. The content of the course and the course objectives must be acceptably aligned with the expectations of the accrediting body.
The requirements do not only address the level of education available in the course, but may also address issues such as instructor credentials. In order to gain accreditation, individuals must demonstrate that they have relevant qualifications and experience for a position teaching English as a foreign language. The mode of delivery of the course also comes into the evaluation for accreditation. The instructor or institution must have appropriate resources, such as facilities and technology, to administer the course. If the accrediting body has a code of ethics, which addresses issues such as honesty, transparency, fairness and other issues, applicants will be required to adhere to those standards.
The TELF Accreditation Body conducts periodic evaluations of its accredited individuals and institutions to ensure that they continue to offer the expected quality of education and abide by the code ethics. Continued education of instructors may be provided and required.
In order to help professionals better understand the requirements set forth by the TELF Accreditation Body, and to help individuals meet these requirements, TEFL courses are offered in various locations around the world. If you offer English As A Foreign Language courses, or are interested in teaching English as a Foreign Language, it is to your advantage to find out more about how to become accredited. Having accredited status communicates to potential employers and students that your course will meet their expectations and needs. With accreditation, you will be more marketable in your profession, and have added confidence that you are providing top-quality service to those who take your courses.

  1. Students considering enrollment in the TEFL Institute of Chicago (www.teflinstitute.com) which CLAIMS to be accredited by WTEFLAC should proceed with greatest caution. Careful research on-line will reveal countless negative reviews on this organization. (YELP, www.glassdoor.com, www.goOverseas.com, www.facebook.com/TheTruthAboutTEFLInstitute). Fraudulent business practices are obviously the hallmark of this organization.

Individuals who HAVE been defrauded by TEFL Institute should IMMEDIATELY contact their Credit Card company or issuing bank/credit union and DISPUTE the charges made to one's credit card. The key word is DISPUTE, and it is your legal right. FRAUD or failure to deliver promised services are LEGITIMATE reasons for initiating this FREE dispute resolution process which is guaranteed by Federal Law. While the investigation is underway, charges are reversed in your favour.

DO NOT register or pay money to TEFL Institute without doing your homework. You along with hundreds of students (and dozens of unpaid teachers) will regret your decision!
